The 57th meeting of discussion group - video games

Gal Marom - "Active Viewing and Passive Play" - some films possess a game-like quality. They encourage the viewers to think and create an experience similar to solving a puzzle. On the other hand, some games, despite their interactivity and the player's control, are linear and don’t require much thinking or offer meaningful choices. What features cause this, what are the problems that arise from passive play, and what can games, especially narrative puzzle games, learn from game-like films?

Ido Adler - "Let's talk about cheating" - Who are the people who cheat in video games? Why are they doing this and how? What methods are used against this?
